Cozy Gingerbread Oatmeal

Stir the oats, milk and spices together in a small sauce pan and heat over medium. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 4 minutes, stirring frequently.

Add the maple syrup, molasses, diced pear (optional), and chia seeds (optional), stirring until combined. Simmer for about 5 minutes more until cooked through and thickened. Continue to stir frequently.

Once cooked, turn off the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Optional: Cover the pot, steaming the oatmeal for about 5 minutes.

Divide between 2 bowls and add desired toppings such as fresh fruit, pecans or walnuts, pepitas/pumpkin seeds, Nutterly Delicious Gingerbread Butter (highly recommended), extra cinnamon, milk and maple syrup. Enjoy warm!

Instructions

1 cup old fashion rolled oats

2 cups milk of choice

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1 - 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

pinch of nutmeg

pinch of cloves

1 tsp pure vanilla extract

1-2 Tbsp pure maple syrup

1 Tbsp molasses

Optional: 1/2 pear diced small

Optional: 1-2 Tbsp chia seeds

Additional toppings as desired
